Late New Years Resolutions?


So, this is kind of embarrassing, but I really feel the need to talk about New Years resolutions. I am only saying this because it is about this time that people tend to lose momentum around the 1 month mark after New Years. I always feel like you get on a role, but totally lose focus. The new year starts, and you just start to get busy again.
However, I always have time to make New Years resolutions. Well, thats not true. I don’t call them resolutions ever, because I don’t like to think that I am going to be resolving anything. I like to call them goals. Such as, it is my goal to be…, and so on. I think that there are so many ways to describe what you want to do in the new year, but trying to be a better person is actually really difficult. Life gets in the way of really good intentions. If I have any advice about life is just that: you can only do what you can do. Seriously. There is so much pressure just to constantly be better, that it gets exhausting and doesn’t make you feel very good about yourself if you don’t meet your expectations. I say, do away with that crap. What is the point? Sure there are things that I really want to do better, and so I will set goals for myself. But I am also a realistic person. I am not going to make myself feel terrible for not being able to do these all of the time. I am going to try my hardest, and keep trying even if I let myself down a bit. That is really the best that I can do.

That being said, here are my 2014 goals:

1. Be More Organized


I would really like to say that I am really organized, but I am not. I try really hard to be, but it always seems to fall back into that cycle of being messy again. (Didn’t post for over a month? Poor organization). It is good for a few weeks, and then gets messy again. My paperwork is probably the worst of them all. I really want all my taxes and papers to be a hell of a lot more organized. Also, my closet could do an overhaul, and my cupboards.

2. Drink More Water

I never seem to do this enough. I am afraid of going to the bathroom a lot. Plain and simply. Plus, if I drink too much I feel super bloated and gross.

3. Take More Pictures


I have always loved photography, but I find that in my day to day I don’t really take that many pictures. In February I have decided that I am going to do those month challenges. We will see how it goes.

4. Be More Creative

I am genuinely a very creative person, but I really don’t make the time to do many crafty things. I vow to change that this year.

5. Read More Books


Because I love it.

Have you noticed that all of my resolutions have the word “more” in the title? So I do these things, but not enough of them. Is this weird? Obviously I just don’t do enough stuff. I think that you could always do more of what you should be doing. Blog more? That is another one. But I really think that that is a given. I am doing better right? Don’t answer that.
